AN Farm House

Project overview

A farmhouse development on open ground off the M-9 near Commander City, taken from an empty plot through to a working venue. The site work is substantial in its own right: the plot had to be cleared and levelled, boundary walls set out and built, and services established before any of the buildings went up.

• Site clearance and levelling of the plot
• Reinforced foundations and plinth
• Concrete block boundary walls to the full perimeter
• Main building with bedrooms, washrooms and kitchen
• Swimming pool and surrounding paved deck
• Lawns, planting and paved circulation
• Site electrical distribution, with decorative and floodlighting
• Water storage and supply to the site

Key materials and features

The plot sits well outside the serviced city, so water storage, power distribution and access all had to be built rather than connected. Facilities on the completed site include a 20 × 40 ft swimming pool, a lawn with decorative lighting and seating, a floodlit sports area, two bedrooms, three washrooms and a kitchen.
